Uptime United teams out of Hanover, MA and online topped the leaderboards at the end of the season in both Fortnite and Valorant

HANOVER, Mass. ─ The NECL National Championships, held on Saturday, June 12th, featured teams from all across the nation competing in Fortnite, Rocket League and Valorant. The Tarping Floppers and Floating Gas Molecules of Uptime United took home the Fortnite and Valorant National Championships respectively, with the Four Musketeers of Force Esports winning the Rocket League National Championship.

Fortnite kicked off the proceedings, all of which can be watched here, and proved to be a hard fought battle all the way down to the final kill. The first game saw the Tarping Floppers score 31 points, three ahead of the Nerd Necks of Gamerbus in third and six behind the Nerds of Force Esports in first. In game two, the trio of Czrson, Vylxs and Xafry showed out for the Tarping Floppers, racking up nine kills between them and scoring 38 points in route to the Victory Royale, claiming an eight point lead over the Nerds with just one game left to play. The final game proved a tough challenge for the team as they bowed out early, scoring just 16 points. However, that proved to be enough to stave off the charging Nerd Necks who vaulted from fifth to second, scoring 43 points, bringing their total to 84 points, not enough to overcome the 85 of the Tarping Floppers, making them the NECL Spring Fortnite National Champions.

Valorant was next on the docket, which can be watched here, with three Uptime United teams making the final in the Floating Gas Molecules, KAN and Team 6, along with the Esporterz out of California. The first two matches pitted the No. 1 seeded Floating Gas Molecules against KAN and Team 6 against the Esporterz. The Floating Gas Molecules dispatched of KAN in two games and the Esporterz did the same to Team 6, however their fight proved a more even match and came down to the wire for both games. That meant the the Floating Gas Molecules and Esporterz would meet to decide the National Champion.

The Floating Gas Molecules opened game one with the round one win but the Esporterz responded the next round to tie things up. Throughout the whole game, the teams remained neck and neck, with the Floating Gas Molecules just hanging onto a one round advantage through most of the game until things were knotted up at 9-9 and again at 10-10. The team then rattled off three straight round wins off the back of the stellar play of Ghoul, who would finish the game 34/14/6, to take game one. Game two saw the Esporterz draw first blood but the teams once again remained close throughout the first eight rounds. However, that is where things started to go sideways for the Floating Gas Molecules as the Esporterz started to dominate and build up a seemingly insurmountable 10-5 lead. Never panicking, the Floating Gas Molecules regrouped with their coach and began to chip away at the deficit. Winning round after round, the team took eight straight to be first to 13 and win the Valorant National Championship by a 2-0 margin. Ghoul led his team with 56 kills, followed by BlueDoom04 (34), Jason (31), blazeluna (30) and TF Syncc (22).

Three Uptime United teams competed in the Rocket League National Championship. The Legendary Skulls fell to the No. 1 seeded Uptime All-Stars in round two and the Gaming Champions also advanced with a victory. However, both teams ran into road blocks in the third round, as the Uptime All-Stars were handed their first loss of the season and the Gaming Champions were beaten by the eventual National Champion team the Four Musketeers from Force Esports.

The National Championship weekend was an exciting one as there were upsets, nail biting finishes and huge comeback victories. The NECL Fall Season is set to begin on September 13th and registration to compete on an Uptime United club team can be found here.

In the interim, Uptime United also has a number of summer camp options available both in-person and online for Fortnite, Rocket League and other popular game titles. Find more information here.
