What makes the NHEL different from other high school esports leagues?
The NHEL stands out for a number of reasons over other leagues. First, we have facilities in New Hampshire (and are opening more) where student athletes can learn and compete in-person. The championship tournament is held in-person in Bedford!
Our focus is on creating a great experience for the players and teams involved, which means enforcing rules evenly and making sure matches happen on time and as scheduled. Through Uptime Academy teams can get professional esports coaching if desired. All participants are offered weekly sessions in other topics around gaming like: PC building, social media, game design, coding, and more.
How many players do we need to have a team?
Teams consist of at least 1 Rocket League (RL) Team, 1 League of Legends (LOL) Team, or 1 Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SSBU) Team. RL teams have 3 players, LOL teams have 5 players, and SSBU teams have 3 players. Each team is also allowed to have one permanent substitute. Schools can enter as many teams as they would like to compete.
What seasons is esports offered?
Esports is offered in the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Each season lasts 8 weeks. Game titles may vary from season to season.
